Emergency return to hospital

  • If you experience discharge of pus or clear fluid from you wound attend the emergency department urgently
  • If you have a new neurological deficit such as weakness, visual changes, speech disturbance or drowsiness you should either go to your emergency department or call ‘000’ for an ambulance.
  • Severe headache usually requires emergency department evaluation

If you cannot contact me and wish to discuss a matter urgently then you can contact the Royal Melbourne Neurosurgery Registrar for advice by calling the hospital on (03)92815800 and asking to be put through to the neurosurgical registrar on call.
